How to Identify HVAC Electrical Replacement Parts by Model, MPN & Specifications
Correct HVAC electrical-part selection starts with the equipment identity and complete manufacturer part number—not appearance alone. Record the brand, full model and serial from the data plate, then compare every suffix, revision and rating on the original component.
Build a complete equipment record
Capture manufacturer, model, serial, voltage, phase and equipment type. Clear photographs of the data plate, original label, terminals and mounting preserve information needed for sourcing.
Match the exact MPN
Use the complete OEM number. A base number without its suffix may identify a family rather than the correct revision. Accept a superseded number only when current manufacturer documentation confirms the replacement chain.
Verify family-specific specifications
- Capacitors: capacitance, voltage, tolerance, shape and terminals.
- Contactors and relays: coil voltage, poles, contact rating and terminals.
- Motors: voltage, phase, horsepower, RPM, frame, shaft, rotation and mounting.
- Boards and sensors: OEM number, revision, connector, control role and equipment application.
Shop and request assistance
Browse capacitors, contactors, AC motors, OEM replacement parts, Carrier, Trane, Rheem/Ruud and Goodman/Amana. For an uncertain part, request part identification with the model, serial, MPN, quantity and delivery ZIP.
