Run Capacitors

(Showing 3 of 3)

Shop Run Capacitors for residential and light-commercial heating and cooling projects. Compare equipment model, voltage, electrical rating, and connector or mounting configuration to identify an option suited to the equipment, site, or task.

Ordering Notice: Verify equipment model, voltage, electrical rating, and connector or mounting configuration and the listing unit or package quantity before ordering for the intended application.

How to choose a replacement run capacitor

Use the equipment or motor manufacturer's specified capacitance and voltage rating. A single run capacitor serves one motor. A dual run capacitor combines separate compressor and condenser-fan capacitance sections in one enclosure, commonly labeled C, HERM, and FAN. Do not select a capacitor from system tonnage alone.

CheckWhat to verify
CapacitanceMatch the required µF/MFD value for each motor circuit.
Voltage ratingMeet the equipment manufacturer's required capacitor voltage rating.
ConfigurationConfirm single-run versus dual-run construction and terminal labels.
ConditionReplace a bulging, leaking, shorted, or otherwise damaged capacitor.

Electrical safety: Disconnect power, verify absence of voltage, and discharge the capacitor using an approved procedure before testing or handling it. See the HVAC capacitor testing guide and the Copeland installation and service manual.
